It is requested that patients only ask for a home visit if it is impossible for them to come into surgery. All requests should be made by as early as possible and these will be assessed by our clinical team. It is usually quicker and safer for you to be seen at the surgery, although we appreciate that this can sometimes be difficult for some.
Cancelling an appointment
We understand that circumstances change and you may need to cancel your appointment at short notice. There are multiple ways available for you to cancel your appointment in time.
You can request this on askmyGP, call the Practice, use the link sent your appointment confirmation SMS, use the NHS App, or text our cancellation line on 07809 904637
With an average of 400 appointments not attended each month, please help us to help you have better access to your GP by cancelling any appointments you no longer require.
Much better to use and feel more comfortable being able to put something in writing and then it being picked up when the service is open. It’s hard to talk about mental health to the receptionist and the doctor so just being able to write your request has made me feel I could contact the doctor sooner rather than waiting.

About our telephone system
Can I book an appointment with a GP or Urgent Nurse by calling the Practice?
You can. If you choose to call us to book an appointment, our Care Navigation Team will submit your request through our askmyGp service on your behalf. A GP will then review the information and direct back advice on the most appropriate appointment type to be made. Appointments are available the same day (if clinically appropriate), or on a pre-bookable basis (depending on availability). The more information you can give the Care Navigator at the time of the call, the more likely the most suitable appointment or advice will be given.
Our phone lines are open 8:00-18:30. Please contact 01469 572058.
I was dealt with in just over an hour – from contacting the service, seeing a GP and to picking up the prescription. Really impressed.

How askmyGP Works
The askmyGp Support Page has put together four stories which you can follow from the patient and the practice point of view, learning about some of the features of askmyGp along the way.
(patient stories are not owned by Roxton and some features may vary depending on each practice)
Patient StoriesAre you a carer for a family member or friend?
You can submit a request on behalf of someone else by registering yourself as a user at the Practice. Once you are registered, there is an option to select ‘I am asking as a Parent or Carer.’
As I am very deaf and struggle to use the phone. This method is perfect for me.
