askmyGP

All requests for an appointment are reviewed by a doctor and the most appropriate action taken. Appointments are available on a same day basis (if clinically appropriate) or a pre-bookable basis (depending on availability). The more information you give us, the more likely the most suitable appointment or advice is given. We hope this will significantly improve our services and we will continue to monitor and improve these for you.

Disclaimer:

  • This service will close early if the practice reaches its capacity for the day.
  • Please DO NOT submit any photographs of intimate body parts.

AskMyGp Features

We have introduced additional features within the AskMyGp Service! All patients are now able to submit requests for:

Prescription Requests (repeat or regular requests)
Med3 Fit Notes - (ongoing)
Referral queries - (for referrals which have already been made)

(Please be aware all requests for Prescriptions and Med3s can take up to 2 working days to be completed)

Telephone System

Our telephone system now allows patients to get a callback without waiting in the queue. We hope this will help to resolve issues with the line engaged tone.

Our phone lines are open 8am until 6:30pm, please contact 01469 572058.

Can I book an appointment with a GP or Urgent Nurse by calling the Practice?

You can. If you choose to call us to book an appointment, our Care Navigation Team will submit your request through our askmyGp Service on your behalf. A GP will then review the information and direct back advice on the most appropriate appointment type to be made. Appointments are available the same day (if clinically appropriate), or on a pre-bookable basis (depending on availability). The more information you can give the Care Navigator at the time of the call, the more likely the most suitable appointment or advice will be given.

Disclaimer

We aim to reply to requests within 2 hours (during service times).

However, if you feel that your request is urgent, please contact the surgery on 01469 572058 before 6:30pm.

If the surgery is closed, you can call out of hours on 01472 256256, call NHS 111, or click the link below to access NHS 111 online.

Are you a carer for a family member or friend?

You can submit a request on behalf of someone else by registering yourself as a user at the Practice. Once you are registered, there is an option to select ‘I am asking as a Parent or Carer.’

Don't have a computer or smartphone?

You can still phone us on 01469 572058 to request help. We aim to make access easier for every patient, whichever way you feel most comfortable with. Our new telephone system also allows patients to get a callback without waiting in the queue. We are hoping both these measures will make it easier for patients to access the help you need.

I was dealt with in just over an hour – from contacting the service, seeing a GP and to picking up the prescription. Really impressed.

How It Works

askmyGp Support Page has put together four stories which you can follow from the patient and the practice point of view, learning about some of the features of askmyGp along the way.

(patient stories are not owned by Roxton and some features may vary depending on each practice)

Patient Stories

As I am very deaf and struggle to use the phone. This method is perfect for me.

Home Visits

It is requested that patients only ask for a home visit if it is impossible for them to come into surgery. All requests should be made by 9am and these will be assessed by our clinical team. It is usually quicker and safer for you to be seen at the surgery, although we appreciate that this can sometimes be difficult for some.

Much better to use and feel more comfortable being able to put something in writing and then it being picked up when the service is open. It’s hard to talk about mental health to the receptionist and the doctor so just being able to write your request has made me feel I could contact the doctor sooner rather than waiting.
